At Howell Middle School, students are required to wear IDs at all times during the school day and at any school function. This means students must wear their ID on a lanyard around their neck. Lanyards are colored coded to identify grade levels: 6th grade is yellow, 7th grade is red, and 8th grade is purple.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure safety and security on the campus for our students and staff. Each student is issued a plastic ID card and lanyard.
The first ID card is free. A charge of $5.00 will be made for replacement cards.
Before school, student ID badges are checked at each point of entry. This card must also be presented to school personnel upon request for identification. The badge must be worn around the neck and visible.
If the student forgets their ID lanyard at home, they will be issued a temporary lanyard and assigned a lunch detention. If a parent is able to drop off the student's lanyard by 10:13 (end of second period), the student will not have lunch detention.
If the temporary ID is lost/not returned, a $3 replacement fee will be charged.
Student may purchase an additional badge for $5.00 to keep in their backpack in case they forget their badge at home.
Thank you for helping keep our Wildcats safe!
