NJHS Member Expectations

As a member of Howell's National Junior Honor Society, your cumulative grade point average must remain a 90 or higher throughout your time at Howell. Each 9 week report card (not progress report), the sponsors average your Math, ELAR, Science, and Social Studies grades together. If this cumulative grade point average is below a 90, you will be placed on Academic Probation for 9 weeks. At the next 9 week report card, the sponsors again average your Math, ELAR, Science, and Social Studies grades. If this cumulative grade point average is still below a 90, you will be dismissed from the NJHS organization. You may only be placed on Academic Probation one time.

Your conduct and behavior are also on display as an NJHS member. If you receive any conduct grade of a C or below on your 9 week report card (not progress report) or if you have served time in ISS, you will be placed on Behavioral Probation for 9 weeks. At the next 9 week report card, if you have any conduct grade of a C or below or if you have served additional time in ISS, you will be dismissed from the NJHS organization. You may only be placed on Behavioral Probation one time.

NJHS students are considered the leaders of the school, the mentors of their peers, and the students that teachers can always count on. Therefore, you will be held to the highest standards. You will be expected to be a positive role model to your classmates. Your sponsors and officers are looking forward to working with you to help you reach your full potential as a school and community leader. If you have any questions, please ask an NJHS sponsor.
