Victoria Independent School District invites families who are new to VISD to attend New to VISD Night, an informational event designed for parents and guardians of private school, homeschool, and out-of-district students interested in enrolling in a VISD middle or high school.

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Victoria West High School auditorium.

New to VISD Night will provide families with an overview of the academic, extracurricular, and enrichment opportunities available to VISD middle and high school students. Attendees will learn about advanced academic and dual credit options that allow students to earn college credit while in high school, as well as Career and Technical Education Programs of Study designed to prepare students for college, careers, and the workforce.

Representatives will also share information about athletics and fine arts programs, highlighting opportunities for students to get involved, develop leadership skills, and explore interests beyond the classroom.

Families will receive guidance on the secondary (middle and high school) course request process, including how to select classes and plan an academic pathway aligned with students’ goals and future plans. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide support for families navigating the transition to VISD.

Whether a student is transferring from another district, coming from a homeschool setting, or currently attending a private school, New to VISD Night offers families an opportunity to learn more about VISD secondary schools and the many ways the district supports student success.

Victoria ISD looks forward to welcoming new families and helping them discover the opportunities available for students in high school and beyond.
