About Me 

 My name is Lindsay Ferrell and I teach 8th grade U.S. History at Howell Middle School. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Gig ‘em! I love teaching and learning about history and am looking forward to a great year in Social Studies! 

 Class Information 

 In 8th Grade, students study the history of the United States from the early colonial period through Reconstruction. The content in 8th Grade builds upon that from 5th Grade but provides more depth and breadth. Historical content focuses on the political, economic, religious, and social events and issues related to the colonial and revolutionary eras, the creation and ratification of the U.S. Constitution, challenges of the early republic, the Age of Jackson, westward expansion, sectionalism, Civil War, and Reconstruction.
